Meals are provided to Coastal Plains students at each site up to four nights per week based on student needs. The meal program meets the needs of students for various reasons, such as coming straight from work and not having the opportunity to stop for a meal. Research has shown when students don't have their basic essential life needs addressed, then it is very difficult for them to learn. CPCHS ran a pilot at six sites in the spring of 2021 and saw numerous students take advantage of the program. And, from August 2021 through Thanksgiving, CPCHS has provided approximately 5200 meals for our students. Coastal Plains Education Charter High School works with vendors throughout our 15 partnering communities across South Georgia thus supporting each local economy.
